We can also subtract numbers using sticks.
To subtract 5 – 2, we do the following.
5 ||||| 1. Arrange the numbers in column.
– 2 2. Draw as many sticks as the bigger number.
3 3. Strike out as many sticks as the smaller number.
4. Count and write the number of sticks left as the
difference.
Subtract the numbers in each flower by drawing and striking out the
sticks. One has been done for you.
